Workspace & Tab Management

Ditch the tab overload. Loci isolates your tabs into separate project workspaces so you can switch focus instantly without losing track of your work.

1. Creating Workspaces & Nested Collections

A Workspace is a dedicated container for a specific project, topic, or client (e.g., "Client Website Launch", "Vacation Planning", "Tax Prep").

You can organize your workspaces into Collections (folders) nested up to 4 levels deep:

  • 📁 Client Work (Main Folder)
    • 📂 Acme Corp Project (Workspace)
      • 📄 Design Sprint (Sub-Workspace)
        • 🎨 Figma Mockups (Child Folder)

Inline Renaming Double-click any workspace or folder name in the sidebar to rename it instantly.

2. Combining Workspaces & Creating Subspaces

Drag any workspace onto another in the sidebar or switcher menu to open the Choose Action Dialog:

Choose Action for Dragged Workspace You dragged "Marketing Campaign" onto "Main Product Launch" 🔀 Combine Workspaces Merges tabs & notes from both spaces together. 📁 Make Subspace Nests source space as a subfolder of target space.

Options Explained:

  • Combine Workspaces: Merges all tabs from both spaces into one, removes duplicate web pages automatically, and combines your project notes.
  • Make Subspace: Places the dragged workspace inside the target space as a subfolder.

3. Multi-Window Support & Tab Safety

Loci helps you work seamlessly across multiple monitors and browser windows:

  • Window Monitor Icons: A blue Monitor Icon appears next to any workspace that is currently active in another open browser window.
  • Accidental Close Protection: Closing a browser window will never wipe out your active project tabs. Loci detects window closures and protects your tab layouts automatically.

4. Tab Group Sync & 1-Click Duplicate Cleaner

  • Tab Group Integration: Colored Chrome tab groups automatically sync with your Loci workspace collections.
  • Clean Duplicate Tabs: Click the Clean Duplicates button in the toolbar to close matching URLs in your active space with a single click.
  • Archiving Spaces: Archive completed projects to hide them from your main list without losing any stored tabs or notes.
